Partner

Applicant must prove:

– Hold a Subclass 457 visa/ TSS 482 Visa.

– Must have worked for minimum 2 years with the sponsoring employer on a Subclass 457 visa (3 years for TSS 482 Visa), in the same position for which your employer is nominating you for ENS 186 Visa.

– Your employer nomination application for the chosen position was approved within the 6 months before making an application for the ENS 186 visa.

– You must have evidence of Competent English (IELTS 6 or comparable) unless you are exempt (based on nationality) from this requirement.

– Under the age of 45 unless you are exempt from the age requirement or fall under the grandfathering provisions.

– If any registration, license or professional membership is required for your chosen occupation in the state where your nominated position is located, you must hold it.

Direct Entry Stream Requirements

Requirements for Approval of Employer Sponsorship

For nominating a skilled worker under ENS 186 Visa, an Australian Business must satisfy the following requirements:

– You are applying under the Agreement stream and the relevant labour agreement allows a person that has turned 50 to be employed

English exemptions for ENS 186 Visa

You are not supposed to give any evidence of Competent English if you:

– Hold an ‘exempt passports” from the English-Speaking countries of New Zealand, Canada, USA, UK as well as Ireland.

Up to the age of 50, you can apply for permanent residency through the transition stream.

Employer nomination

You are just needed to work for the same nominating employer for two years before applying for Australian PR.

If you joined a new employer or renewed your 457 or TSS visa since these legislative modifications, you will still have access to these grandfathering provisions.

Work experience

457 to PR Questions

My 457 visa was lodged before April 2017. Do the announced changes impact my PR?

Direct Entry Stream (DE)

  • Your occupation must be in MLTSSL List (187 Visa -ROL List).

  • You must be less than 45 years of age unless you are exempt
